Who doesn’t have a drawer-closet-basket chock full of plastic bags just screaming to be recycled and upcycled? Why not combine your plastic bag stash with a community service project to benefit local shelters and the homeless in your area? This is a wonderful project where children and adults of all ages can combine their creativity, talents, and labor to provide sleeping mats for individuals and organizations in need to weather the elements all by using plastic yarn made from plastic bags.
Each mat can take over 10 hours to make! Please click the link below to see a sample video on how to make the mats.
Taking a shower and washing up are luxuries to our homeless population. Hygiene Packs are pre-made packages that you can make and turn in for volunteer hours. The packages are then handed out to the homeless and low-income poor.
Click here to see the Hygiene Packs requirements in the Volunteer Information section.
This item is limited to 12 boxes for volunteer hour credit.
Everyone deserves to be celebrated on their birthday. For the close to 2 million kids living in shelters or on the streets in the U.S., birthdays are often forgotten; however, you can help change that and spread a little joy to other kids on their birthdays by donating kits filled with everything they need to celebrate their special day.
Please see our birthday box information sheet below for more information.

Weekend/Vacation bags allow children to receive food to supplement the food they miss out on when school is closed. Each bag should be a cinch bag so it doesn't look like they are receiving necessities they can't afford.
